GreigeFabric—UnfinishedWovenFabricforDyeing,Printing&Processing
Greige (pronounced "gray") is fabric as it comes off the loom — undyed, unfinished and ready for processing. Buyers who have their own dyeing, printing or finishing facilities prefer to source greige fabric and control the finishing themselves.
Greige from Janki Nath & Co.
JNC supplies greige fabric from our weaving units in Meerut, Bhiwandi, Erode and Salem in cotton, cotton-linen blend and cotton-viscose blend constructions.

Why Source Greige
Sourcing greige separates weaving from finishing. You choose the dye house, the colour and the finish, and you can use the same base cloth across several colourways or print designs in a season. A stable, consistent greige construction is what makes that repeatable, which is why consistent yarn quality and a stable construction from run to run matter so much to greige buyers.
Who Buys Greige
Fabric converters who dye and print in-house. Mills and processors with their own finishing lines. Brands sourcing undyed fabric for natural and botanical dyeing. Buyers who need a consistent grey fabric construction across large seasonal runs.

Quality of the Base Cloth
A good greige cloth is judged on the evenness of its yarn, the regularity of its weave and the consistency of its width from roll to roll, because those decide how it takes dye and print. We weave with that downstream processing in mind, and construction details can be discussed against your process requirements.
Finishing Routes
From greige, buyers go on to piece dyeing, printing, bleaching, sanforizing or garment dyeing. If you would rather not process yourself, the same constructions can also be supplied already finished — bleached, RFD, dyed or yarn-dyed.
Minimum Order & Lead Time
Greige is available from small trial quantities to full bulk, with no minimum order lock-in. Lead time from our mills depends on current capacity, so please enquire directly for a current timeline. Trial quantities let you test a construction through your own process before committing to a seasonal run.
